System Networking
Both Commander and Orator matrix Intercom systems can be networked together using the E1 6 Channel Network option. This provides a cost-effective solution for extending port capacity or for combining several independent matrices across a broadcast facility. Intelligent routing between control panels ensures transparent user operation.
Additionally, the Mercury IP intercom offers an elegant networking solution with provision to transport talkback channels & 4-wire circuits between a virtually unlimited number of Commander & Orator Intercoms, linked over LAN/WAN or VPN.
An Installation Example
Each main site is equipped with a fully featured Commander or Orator digital matrix intercom and a Mercury IP system to transport audio and control data between sites. Smaller sites can be equipped with just an MIU to act as both the intercom and the IP interconnect device.
Programming is flexible and allows for example, the Director in one location to speak to his opposite number in a remote location with a single key press.
